Increase in Flights From Airport and Effects on Public
- Share via
The article (Dec. 19) regarding the increase in flights from Orange County (John Wayne) Airport should not come as a surprise to anyone.
If the developers want (the increase), and if the politicians believe that it is in their best interest to do the developers’ bidding, airport expansion and attendant flight increases will occur; and the public be damned.
Bruce Nestande’s “I get a little bored . . . “ statement, I believe, reflects the insensitivity of the Board of Supervisors to a substantial segment of the county. We can’t do much about Nestande now but perhaps we should remember his remarks when he runs for an office which requires support of the people in the 5th Supervisorial District.
With the advent of airport expansion and increased flight activity, can Orange County, LAX and Playa del Rey be far away? Keep the faith, baby . . . and see where it gets you.
