Domestic Spat Puts Robbery Suspect in Jail

The arrest of a 28-year-old Carson man after a domestic dispute may bring the solution of as many as 50 home burglaries and street robberies in Beverly Hills, Gardena, Hawthorne, the Wilshire District of Los Angeles and other communities, detectives said Friday.

Kevin Dwayne Moore was in Los Angeles County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail after the filing of at least eight felony charges with others expected soon, Beverly Hills Police Detective Dennis Decuir said.

Decuir said dozens of local law enforcement jurisdictions were being contacted because Moore admitted to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detectives last weekend that he had committed more than 50 burglaries and robberies.

Moore reportedly made that admission after deputies were called to his Carson home because of a domestic quarrel and his stepdaughter showed them jewelry, a television set and other items allegedly stolen by him.

Decuir said state authorities also ordered Moore held for violation of the parole on which he was released from Folsom State Prison after serving eight years for robbery.
