Free agent Bob McAdoo said he signed a two-year contract worth $305,000 as a backup center/forward for the Philadelphia 76ers Tuesday after passing a physical and strength test.

The Lakers, who released McAdoo last year after winning the NBA title, have 15 days to match the offer before the contract goes into effect.

Pat Williams, the 76ers’ general manager, said tests showed the 34-year-old McAdoo, a five-time NBA All-Star and a three-time scoring champion, to be in “quite good shape,” even though he has not played professionally since last June.
