NHL Roundup : Bruins Defeat Flames, 3-2, on Pederson’s Decisive Goal

Barry Pederson scored the decisive goal midway through the second period Thursday night to lift the Boston Bruins to a 3-2 victory over the Calgary Flames at Boston.

The Bruins were holding a 2-1 lead when Pederson’s shot went between Calgary goaltender Rejean Lemelin’s pads at 10:10 of the second period.

Lanny McDonald scored on Steve Konroyd’s rebound to narrow the margin to 3-2 at 14:03. The Flames pulled Lemelin with 53 seconds remaining but were unable to get a tying goal past Bruin Doug Keans, who made 25 saves.

Boston took a 1-0 lead on Ray Bourque’s power-play goal at 6:49 of the first period and increased its advantage four minutes later when rookie Randy Burridge scored.

The Flames drew within 2-1 when Steve Bozek scored during a power play at 16:21.

Minnesota 4, St. Louis 3--Dino Ciccarelli scored twice, and Neal Broten had three assists as the North Stars held off the Blues at Minneapolis.

Dirk Graham scored what proved to be the winning goal when he put in a backhander past Blue goalie Greg Millen for a 4-2 lead at 8:21 of the final period.

Rob Ramage got the Blues close with a power-play goal at 13:37, but St. Louis couldn’t get the equalizer.
