Santa Monica : Building Plan Approved
A five-year construction plan has been approved by the Santa Monica College Board of Trustees.
The plan includes: the 1986-87 remodeling of the cafeteria, estimated to cost $1.25 million; the 1987-88 remodeling of the vocational building, $199,520; the construction of a second floor on the student activities building in 1987-88, $1.25 million; a parking structure to be built in 1990-91, $6 million; a new theater center in 1991-92, $4.5 million, and a third floor on the technology building in 1991-92 for $1.6 million to house a natural science museum and observatory.
Funds would come from a variety of sources, including private donations, parking fees, student body funds, district funds and food service vendors.
