Appointed to the Los Angeles County Superior Court bench by Gov. George Deukmejian was Superior Court Commissioner Alan Haber, 42, of Northridge. Haber replaces Judge Robert Devich, who was elevated to the state Court of Appeal. The governor also appointed Glenn Mahler, 38, a commissioner for the Harbor Judicial District, to the Harbor Municipal Court bench in Orange County. Irma Jean Brown, 37, a Compton Judicial District commissioner, was appointed a Compton Municipal Court judge. Mahler, of Irvine, fills a newly created position. Brown, of Los Angeles, replaces Judge John Shook, who was named to the Los Angeles County Superior Court bench.
