Lawndale : Miss Lawndale Crowned

Marlise Ricardos, 24, has been crowned Miss Lawndale 1986 and will compete at the Miss California Pageant in San Diego in June.
Gary Bosley, executive vice president of the sponsoring Lawndale Chamber of Commerce, said Ricardos competed in the 1984 Miss California Pageant as Miss Palos Verdes-San Pedro and was named third runner-up.
Ricardos, an El Camino College student from San Pedro, was selected from 11 contestants and won a $1,000 college scholarship. Pamela Jacobs of San Pedro was first runner-up and Bridget Jones of Gardena was second runner-up. Both won $500 scholarships. Contestants did not have to live in Lawndale.
