Share

The Department of Community and Economic Development has completed a draft environmental impact report on the proposed reconstruction of portions of the Santa Monica municipal pier.

The report on the project’s potential impact on such things as marine life, air quality, noise and parking, is available for public review at the Santa Monica Library, 1343 6th St., and the planning division office, Room 212 in City Hall.

The city plans to rebuild several sections of the pier, including the breakwater and a part of the Newcomb Pier lost during storms in 1983. The estimated cost of the project is $12 million.
