August Leads Chapman Alumni

Don August returned to Chapman College Saturday afternoon to lead the alumni team past the varsity baseball team, 2-1.

August, who pitched for the Panthers from 1982-84 and was a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic team, pitched the first three innings to gain the victory. Last season, he played for the Columbus, Ga., Astros, the Double-A team for Houston.

Both alumni runs came in the first inning and were unearned.

Freshman John Hulshof, from Mater Dei High School, made his varsity debut by pitching two shutout innings.
