Daytona Trials Postponed Until Monday
Heavy rains wiped out Saturday’s qualifying for next Sunday’s Daytona 500, opening event of NASCAR’s $14-million Winston Cup stock car series.
The time trials were rescheduled for Monday.
The Busch Clash, a 50-mile dash for $50,000 for drivers who won pole positions in last year’s series, will go as scheduled today--weather permitting. Only eight drivers are entered, largely because Bill Elliott won 11 of the 28 poles.
Also today is the 23rd annual ARCA 200, first race of the Permatex Super Car series.
