A man charged with helping illegally dump more than 200 gallons of diesel waste in a public storm drain near Los Angeles Doctors Hospital has been sentenced to 66 days in Los Angeles County Jail. Walter Holton was accused of assisting Robert Smallwood and A. Vaji Nasoordeen, chief mechanical engineer at the hospital, in removing 200 to 350 gallons of the hazardous waste from the fuel tank at the hospital’s emergency generator and dumping it into a storm drain last June. Smallwood has also pleaded guilty to one felony count of illegal disposal and will be sentenced Feb. 27, authorities said. Nasoordeen is awaiting trial.
