For information, the recycling hot-line telephone numbers are:

--California Waste Management Board, (800) 952-5545. From a statewide list, operator will give location that is most convenient center to caller.

--Toll-free (800) RECYCAL is a hot line that gives location of nearest center to callers from Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Diego, Imperial, Indio, Kern, Riverside, San Bernardino or San Luis Obispo counties.

--Reynolds Recycling, (800) 228-2525. Toll-free information on location of 24-hour vending machines (all aluminum cans accepted). Reynolds runs 46 service and convenience centers in Southern California.

The Garden State Paper Co. in Pomona, (714) 623-6601, will set up programs for buying newspapers and paper byproducts from offices. Garden State also runs 65 mobile collection sites at selected Alpha Beta markets for both newspapers and aluminum cans. At some markets, cash is paid; at others, vouchers are issued for buying groceries. Centers are open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with attendant on duty.
