Santa Ana : TV Station Sponsors Latin Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day will become El Dia de los Enamorados in Santa Ana’s Centerpointe area Saturday when the Spanish-language television station KVEA, Channel 52, holds its first Valentine’s Day Festival.
Rudy Garza, coordinating the event for the station, which went on the air in November, said the festival will feature Latino performing groups from all over Southern California and concession stands by nonprofit organizations. The master of ceremonies will be KTNQ radio personality Humberto Luna and Los Lunaticos, an affiliated group of comedians.
The festival, which has a theme of “Amor a Primera Vista” (“Love at First Sight”) will begin at 10 a.m. near the corner of 4th and Ross streets and end at 5 p.m. Admission is free. If the festival is canceled because of rain, it will be rescheduled for the same hours on Sunday.
The Bowers Museum’s 50th anniversary festival, also scheduled to be held this weekend at 20th and Main streets in Santa Ana, has been postponed because of rain. Tracy Ledin, a museum spokeswoman, said the festival will be held later this spring.
