El Toro : 15-Month-Old Boy Drowns in a Lake
A 15-month-old El Toro boy drowned in a lake near his backyard Tuesday afternoon after he wandered away from his house, a Sheriff’s Department official said.
Rudy Richard Omran apparently walked out through the back sliding door of his house in the 21800 block of Michigan Lane before 1 p.m. and was discovered in a man-made lake that backs up to the house, Lt. Dick Olson said.
The boy was taken by paramedics to Saddleback Community Hospital, where he was declared dead, Olson said.
Olson did not know who found the toddler in the lake, but deputies were notified about the drowning by the boy’s mother, Azeaza Sonem Omran, he said.
