Two men died, two others suffered minor injuries and a fifth was unharmed when a fire swept through their home in Bell early today, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
It took seven companies of firefighters about 10 minutes to control the 1 a.m. blaze, which caused $35,000 damage to the small, one-story home on South Walker Avenue. The burned bodies of two men, ages 78 and 54, were removed after the flames were put out, Capt. Gordon Pearson said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
