A Pomona man pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges for mailing 28 sex books to a man in Bangkok, Thailand, in exchange for pornographic photographs. Don Stephenson, 41, was among 11 men indicted in separate cases last year by a new anti-child pornography task force. He became the sixth defendant to plead guilty. U.S. District Judge Consuelo B. Marshall said she would sentence Stephenson on April 28 after he takes a court-ordered psychiatric test. He could be sentenced to 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine. In exchange for Stephenson agreeing that he violated the Child Protection Act by receiving pornography through the mail, Assistant U.S. Atty. Joyce Karlin agreed to drop conspiracy charges and another charge of receiving photos.
