UCSB Swimmers Lead PCAA Meet
UC Irvine broke three school records but UC Santa Barbara still had the lead Friday after the second day of the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. men’s swimming and diving championships at Cerritos.
The Gauchos lead with 483, followed by Pepperdine at 464, Nevada Las Vegas with 254 and the Anteaters with 242.
In Friday’s preliminaries, Irvine’s Brian Pajer swam the 100-yard breaststroke in 56.30 seconds to become the first Anteater ever to qualify for the NCAA Division I championships.
Kurt Fuchs took second place for the Anteaters in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:39.50.
