Anaheim : Tournament to Launch Fund Drive for Center
To launch a drive to build a new Therapeutic Center in Anaheim, the annual Louie Unser Benefit Golf Tournament will be held at the Jack Nicklaus Bear Creek Country Club in Murrieta on Monday.
The $200-per-entrant registration fees will go toward financing a new building to replace the facility now used for disabled teen-agers and adults.
The 60-year-old structure at 2660 W. Broadway is small and inadequate to house the existing program for the community’s disabled participants, according to Chris Jarvi, director of Anaheim’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department.
