SPRING SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS : Camarillo Sends Lompoc Walking and Loses, 6-1

Lompoc High defeated Camarillo, 6-1, in a non-league baseball game Wednesday at Lompoc.

Although Camarillo had two more hits than Lompoc, its pitching staff gave up eight walks.

Camarillo was led by shortstop Kenny Sirak and third baseman Chris Lillick. Sirak was 2 for 4 with a home run in the first inning and a double in the third. Lillick was 2 for 3.

Mike Curse (0-1) was the losing pitcher.

Lompoc is 3-0. Camarillo is 4-2.

Muir 6, Glendale 1--Murph Proctor broke a 1-1 tie with a three-run home run in the third inning to lead the Mustangs to the win in the Pacific League opener for both schools.

Proctor also had 10 strikeouts and went the distance to raise his record to 3-0.

Muir (4-0) was also led by Vince Phillips, who was 2 for 3 and scored two runs. Sidney Newton was 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Queen of Angels 7, Pasadena Poly 0--Victor Sclaya (1-1) tossed a three-hitter and had 11 strikeouts as the Angels improved their record to 3-1-1.

Queen of Angels had eight hits. For Poly (2-1), John Dick was 2 for 3.

Boys High School Volleyball

Canoga Park def. El Camino Real, 15-2, 14-16, 15-12, 15-13--The Hunters kept their unbeaten streak going at 3-0.

Canoga Park was led by senior outside hitters Alex Guerrero and John Henry. Guerrero had a game-high eight kills. Henry had six.

El Camino Real is 0-3.
