Scheer Termed Honest, Decent by Rothenberg

Alan Rothenberg, president of the Clippers, released a statement Saturday in support of Clipper General Manager Carl Scheer. A story in Saturday’s editions of The Times reported that Scheer’s job is in jeopardy, partly because of alleged misuse of company funds.
Rothenberg’s statement:
“Carl Scheer is a thoroughly honest and decent man. We do not question his integrity and never have. We think that it is wrong, unfair and inexcusable that certain people have chosen to assassinate Carl’s good character.
“His continued status as the Clippers’ general manager is unaffected by these outrageous charges.”
