Richie Sandoval, the former World Boxing Assn. bantamweight champion who was knocked unconscious and hospitalized after his March 10 fight against Gaby Canizales, has been offered a $25,000 bonus and a job as a media consultant by promoter Bob Arum provided he does not fight again.
Arum’s Top Rank, Inc. has offered Sandoval at $500 a week beginning April 1 to aid relations between Hispanic fighters and Spanish-speaking media in the United States.
Sandoval, 25, was unbeaten in 28 pro fights before losing his title to Canizales. He could not be reached for comment on the offer.
