Oakland A’s pitcher Joaquin Andujar has returned to the Dominican Republic to be with his ailing mother, the club said.
Andujar left for his home Friday after pitching five strong innings in a 4-3 “B” squad defeat to the Cleveland Indians. The club did not know when Andujar would return. The veteran’s mother is suffering from pulmonary disease.
The club said that Andujar may work out at the A’s development camp in the Dominican Republic.
