Charges of drug use and shoplifting among players on the University of Maryland’s women’s basketball team have spurred the school to investigate the program, the Washington Post reported.
The newspaper quoted an unnamed player as saying there has been marijuana use by a small circle of players, shoplifting both on-campus and off-campus and homosexual relations.
Coach Chris Weller said the story was an “attack” by a former player, Sydney Beasley, who transferred to James Madison University this semester.
