Share

The state Board of Chiropractic Examiners has filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court against a Canoga Park chiropractor who was arrested on rape charges, seeking to stop him from practicing until the board holds an administrative hearing.

The civil suit filed Friday against Dr. Ronald Schain includes declarations from three women who claimed Schain fondled or raped them while they were patients in his office between October, 1985, and January, 1986.

Police arrested Schain Feb. 14 and charged him with raping one patient and sexually battering another. He was released on $75,000 bail and faces an April 21 preliminary hearing.

Schain declined to comment on the charges.

Two of Schain’s alleged victims said in their declarations that Schain sexually molested them during chiropractic massages and a third said Schain had raped her during an examination in his office.

One of the women quoted in the court documents said that when she called Schain the day after the alleged assault he told her he had been “lonely all his life” and promised that his behavior would not be repeated.
