Titan Gymnasts Take First in West Regional

Cal State Fullerton’s gymnastics team set a school record with 188.45 points to win the NCAA Western Regional championship late Saturday night in Corvalis, Ore. The score will place the Titans as the third seed at the NCAA National Championships April 18-19 in Gainesville, Fla.
Fullerton’s Tami Elliot won the all-around competition with a career-high score of 38.10. Taunia Rogers was second in the all-around with 37.75, as Fullerton took four of the top six spots in the all-around.
The Titans swept the vault--Elliot won with 9.65 total, Rogers was second and Tanya Service third.
UCLA, sixth-seeded team in the NCAA championships, was second in Saturday’s meet.
