Gulls Bus a Bust on First Mission

As problems go, Ken McMullen, Jim Biby and Jim Colborn hope it’s the worst. Then again, it may just be the first.

The Gull Express--a 1967 diesel recliner acquired to transport the first-year Ventura County Gulls on trips--was grounded on its first mission. A brake line broke while the bus was on its way to pick up the team at LAX on Tuesday morning.

“It only caused about an hour delay,” said McMullen, who along with Biby and Colborn own the Gulls. “We rented another one.”
