Canyons Pitcher Halcovich Signs to Play for Arizona
Frank Halcovich, the undefeated pitcher for College of the Canyons, has signed a national letter of intent with Arizona.
Last season, Halcovich was the Mountain Valley Conference’s most valuable player and the MVP of the state tournament. This season, the sophomore right-hander is 8-0 with a 1.63 earned-run average.
Teammate Scott Drury, who is batting .416, has signed with Texas Tech. Drury, a sophomore first baseman, has eight home runs this season.
Shortstop Don Erickson is leaning toward signing with Florida, and catcher Pete Kuld is expected to sign with Pepperdine. Erickson is batting .346 with seven home runs. Kuld is batting .370 with eight homers.
