Bryan Hayden of Palmdale, who qualified at the pole position for the second straight week, won the Street Stock oval race Saturday night at Saugus Speedway.

Hayden, who held off a last-lap charge by Scott Klassen of Ventura, qualified at 18.82 seconds on the one-third mile oval and built a big lead during the 25-lap race.

A late-race smashup in the second turn involving Pat Mintey of Saugus, Simi Valley’s Dale White Jr., and Robert Estes of Sylmar allowed the field to tighten up under the yellow caution flag.
