Suspension of Doonesbury

Share

How dare The Times take it upon itself to act as the “literary-guardian-angel” of its readers!

The deliberate “killing of Doonesbury” for one week because The Times feels it to be its “responsibility to guard against publishing damaging material . . .” that the editors “. . . know to be overdrawn . . . unfair . . . and grossly exaggerates the real and alleged transgressions of many Reagan Administration appointees . . .” is an insult to the intelligence of Times readers.

Feel free to “tell it like it happens,” I can take it. Just don’t mess with my cartoons! That infuriates me and I write irate letters to editors!
