Share

Mayor Tom Bradley expressed confidence in anti-terrorist security measures at Los Angeles International Airport. Emerging from a meeting with airport security officials in the international terminal that bears his name, the mayor said uniformed police officers have been redeployed into more visible positions. In addition, he said, an outside consulting firm has been brought in to advise and work with existing security forces. Bradley said the city got a “head start” in fighting terrorism by hosting the 1984 Summer Olympics. “I am satisfied,” Bradley said, “and confident in the ability of the airport police and the Los Angeles Police Department to identify potential threats to . . . security . . . and to deal with those threats.”
