The athletics code, which would restructure eligibility rules for the Olympics, is almost certain to win a majority vote at the Assn. of National Olympic Committees meeting beginning today in Seoul, South Korea, according to surveys.

The code would replace existing eligibility rules in the Olympic charter. The major point of dispute is the rule change that would allow all registered professional athletes to compete.

The International Olympic Committee is reportedly eager to put a final proposal before members at the October session in Lausanne, Switzerland, so that the rule changes can be implemented in time for the 1988 Games.
