A woman kidnaped from her home in Rolling Hills Estates and held for ransom was rescued unharmed by police. Anita Butler, 47, was at home on Saddlebow Lane when she was confronted by a masked gunman who robbed her and then kidnaped her in her car, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies said. “The suspect took the victim to a house at 9860 National Boulevard in Los Angeles, after he and a female accomplice tried to extort $20,000 from the victim’s mother,” Deputy Lynda Edmonds said. Butler’s mother notified Los Angeles police, who went to the home, rescued Butler and arrested Bismach Castillo, 20, Edmonds said. Castillo was booked on suspicion of kidnaping for ransom and jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail. Edmonds said authorities were not releasing further details because the investigation was incomplete. The female accomplice was being sought.
