Readers Put Down Columnist and Column

Mike Downey’s article of April 21 was nothing more than a slander of the character of Larry Holmes. Had Downey seen the Spinks-Holmes fight, he might have understood Larry’s response.

We don’t know how gracious Spinks will be when he finds himself on the other side of a questionable decision. In the meantime, he has a long way to go before he is even halfway to Larry’s record of title defenses.
