BOY’S NEW GIRL

Share

Would someone please tell me how Connie Johnson gets to critique Culture Club’s fantastic new album, “From Luxury to Heartache” (Record Rack, April 20)?

Her idiotic review not only dwells on Boy George’s haircut and cosmetics but she accuses him of convoluted lyrics while ignoring his great vocal powers.

It doesn’t take a musical genius to figure out what this album is about: The Boy sounds like he’s in love for real this time and he’s singing about her in practically every song.

In “God Thank You Woman,” his intent couldn’t be clearer. He’s just discovered a new aspect of his sexuality, namely the female population.

It’s too bad Johnson doesn’t have the intelligence or heartfelt emotion to be touched and moved by Boy’s lyrics. We found them to be beautiful, mature and intriguing, not convoluted.
