A Costa Mesa police officer and another driver suffered minor injuries Saturday morning when their cars collided at Placentia Avenue and Victoria Street in Costa Mesa.

Lt. David Brooks said Officer Larry Torres was northbound on Placentia at 8:15 a.m. when his car collided with a southbound car making a left turn onto Victoria. That car, driven by Pamela Dailey, 38, of Costa Mesa, overturned, Brooks said.

Dailey was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital for treatment of a cut forehead and bruised abdomen, according to investigating officers. Torres was treated at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian for cuts and a bruised leg, police said.
