Two UCI Doubles Teams Win, Advance to Today’s Ojai Finals
Two UC Irvine doubles teams qualified for divisional finals Saturday in the Ojai Valley tennis tournament at Ojai.
In the intercollegiate division, UCI’s Darren Yates and Bruce Man Son Hing defeated Scott Morse and Steve Leier of UC Santa Barbara, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, in the semifinals.
The pair will face Robbie Weiss and Kelly Jones of Pepperdine in today’s final.
In the open division, UCI’s Julian Barham and Mark Kaplan defeated John Simerson and Rick Kepler of USC, 6-4, 6-3, in the semifinals. Barham and Kaplan will play Pat Galbraith and Brett Greenwood of UCLA today in the final.
