Local News in Brief : Free Rides to Neutering Clinic Offered for Pets
The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control will offer free transportation to its spay and neuter clinic for pets owned by senior citizens and disabled persons in San Fernando, Canyon Country, Newhall, Saugus and Valencia.
The pets will be picked up at the owner’s home and returned the next day. The free transportation service will be offered Monday through May 28. Pet owners will be charged, however, to have their animals spayed or neutered.
Depending on the size of the animal, costs range from $13 to $18 for cats, from $23 to $60 for female dogs and from $23 to $40 for male dogs. Arrangements for transportation may be made by calling (213) 862-3109.
