Boy Dies When He Falls From Truck on Freeway
A 16-year-old La Puente boy was killed Saturday when he fell out of a moving pickup truck on the Pomona Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol said Guillermo Munguia was sitting on a pile of debris in the bed of the truck when a gust of wind blew him out and onto the westbound Pomona Freeway, just east of the San Gabriel Freeway. Munguia died at the scene of head injuries.
The driver of the truck, believed to have been Munguia’s brother, was driving about 55 m.p.h. and apparently was on his way to a trash dump when the accident occurred, the CHP said.
