Agua Dulce Couple Die in Murder-Suicide

A 45-year-old Agua Dulce man shot his wife to death Saturday, then turned the shotgun on himself in a murder-suicide that apparently was prompted by a marital dispute, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

Sheriff’s deputies found the bodies of Julius Williams and his wife, Francis Louise, 42, about 12:30 p.m. in their trailer. Williams’ son had called authorities after hearing three shots from the residence at 8925 Sierra Highway, Deputy Steve Lee said.

Lee said that the son, Calvin Williams, 27, told investigators that the couple had been having marital problems and that his stepmother had left his father three weeks ago.

His stepmother returned home Saturday. The younger Williams, who lives in a nearby trailer, told the officers that about 10:30 a.m. he saw the couple enter their trailer with his father carrying a shotgun, Lee said.

Moments later, the son said that he heard shots and then tried to enter the locked trailer. Calvin Williams called officials from a nearby phone, Lee said.
