Preservation of Historic Buildings

I want to thank associate professor Baer for his well-reasoned article advocating the destruction of all old buildings here in L.A. I, too, have had it up to here with all this hoopla about preservation.

As a matter of fact, I have had my eye on this prime piece of real estate for the last few months. Its in perfect location for another one of those mini-malls. Trouble is, there’s this old house on the lot, which the preservationists are trying to save. Apparently the place was built by a couple of guys named Greene, whoever they were.

Anyway, before professor Baer’s article, I thought I’d never get my plans approved. Now, though, I got a guy with brains to back me up at all those hearings and appeals. You and me, professor, we’ll rebuild this city from scratch! If those preservationists squawk tell ‘em I’ll name it Greene Mini-Mall.
