A 38-year old Sylmar woman was killed when she was ejected from her car in a Panorama City traffic accident involving a driver suspected of being drunk, Los Angeles police said Monday.

The woman, whose identity was not released pending notification of relatives, was traveling west on Rayen Street near Burnet Avenue about 8 p.m. Sunday when another vehicle hit the front of her car on the passenger side, police said. The woman’s car then slammed into a parked car on Burnet, police said.

Jose Ernest Cojulun, 27, of Sepulveda was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and was released to paramedics, who took him to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, police said. A hospital spokeswoman said he was in stable condition Monday night.
