The Region : 2 Vietnamese Held, 3 Sought in Murder

Three more Vietnamese juveniles were being sought after the arrest of two boys--aged 12 and 14--in the slaying of a 46-year-old Santa Ana mother of 14. Police said cooperation by Orange County’s Vietnamese community led them to the arrest of the two youths and to the identities of the other three suspected of being members of the band that pushed its way into the home on May 5, when Huyen Thi Hoang was shot to death as she prayed by her bedside. Police said the slaying of the woman was so vicious that the traditionally reticent refugee community came forward. Until then, officers said, a solution to the crime seemed remote.
