A San Bernardino woman was held without bail after pleading innocent to federal charges that she kidnaped a Tijuana girl a dozen years ago and forced the girl and her sister into sexual slavery and prostitution. U.S. District Judge Robert Takasugi refused to set bail for Marge Garcia, 34, pending her July 22 trial. In addition, she faces trial in state court on charges of lewd conduct with a minor, molesting children, incest and witness tampering. Assistant U.S. Atty. Nancy Wieben Stock said the two sisters, then aged 9 and 10, were abducted from a carnival in Mexico at the same time, but the statute of limitations has run out for prosecution on kidnaping the older child. Garcia’s husband, Andro, 45, is being held in San Bernardino County Jail and is scheduled to enter a plea to similar charges June 16.
