A 39-year-old National City man was killed when a pickup truck rammed into his parked car on Imperial Avenue on Sunday morning, San Diego police reported. Warvick Frederick March, who was reportedly dropping off his brother at church in the 6300 block of the avenue about 9 a.m., was struck from the rear by an eastbound truck driven by a 17-year-old boy, police said.
The truck pushed March’s car, which was still running, 85 feet into another parked car. March died about 10:15 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, coroner’s deputies said.
The driver of the truck apparently fell asleep at the wheel and was released to his parents after the accident, police said.
