Stanton : Help Sought in Finding Man Who Abducted Girl

Share

Police are asking the public for help in trying to locate a man who abducted and sexually assaulted a 4-year-old girl Sunday night, after he allegedly took her from the back seat of an unlocked car parked outside the Lounge Bar at 8550 Chapman Ave.

Sgt. Dan Amon said the suspect is either black or Latino with black curly hair and apparently took the blond, brown-eyed toddler into his vehicle, which police described as “a large dark car, possibly blue.”

Amon said the child, who was wearing a yellow dress, may have been dropped off in an industrial area near Magnolia Street and La Palma Avenue in Buena Park before she was found nearby wandering and dazed at 3 a.m. by a passerby.

The girl’s mother told investigators that a friend called her from the lounge Sunday night asking her for a ride home. She told police that she left her daughter asleep and bundled in a blanket in the back seat of the car, parked outside the lounge, and went inside for a few minutes to get her friend. When she returned the child was missing. Police ask that anyone with information about the girl’s abductor contact Stanton Police Investigator J. McLean at (714) 891-2481.
