President Reagan’s return to California touched off another epidemic of complaints from San Bernardino area homeowners, who say his flying command post--the so-called “doomsday plane”--sends radio signals that jam their automatic garage door openers. “It happened this morning and I said, ‘He must be in California,’ ” said Shandra Percy, who lives near March Air Force Base, where the President’s E-4B airplane is parked while he vacations at his ranch near Santa Barbara. Garage-door repairman Larry Murdock said he has answered more than 35 calls from people whose doors refuse to respond to remote-control transmitters since Reagan arrived, but this is not nearly as bad as it was during the First Family’s visit in April when he got 485 calls.
