An Orem, Utah, private investigator has been charged with killing a Valencia man for a fee.
Robert Goode, 26, is accused in the Jan. 13 shooting death of Frank Fitzpatrick, 47, who police say was gunned down in a parking lot behind his Glendale business.
Circuit Judge Sheila McCleve in Salt Lake City ordered Goode freed on $100,000 bail Monday.
Goode was arrested June 24 when he went to the American Fork, Utah, police station in connection with an application for a concealed weapon permit, investigators said.
The Glendale complaint alleges that Goode was paid by an unknown third party to kill Fitzpatrick.
McCleve ordered Goode’s arraignment continued until July 25, to allow time for filing of an extradition request by California officials, a court clerk said.
Goode is required to report daily to authorities pending the hearing, Salt Lake County prosecutor Michael Christensen said.
