University of Houston officials confirmed that the NCAA will investigate allegations that the school’s football coaches, including head Coach Bill Yeoman, gave large amounts of money to players.
Former wide receivers Lonell Phea and David Roberson both said they were given thousands of dollars during the four years they played football for the Cougars. Phea said he was given about $18,000, most of it in $200 and $300 increments. Roberson estimated his total at between $8,000 and $10,000.
