Swimmers to Race: The 18th annual Seal Beach Roughwater Swim and Midsummer Festival will be held today along the Seal Beach and Huntington Beach shoreline. The day’s events include 16-, 10- and 1-mile races. About 300 competitors 10 to 80 years old will compete in the mile swim, which begins at 10 a.m. and takes swimmers from the Seal Beach Pier to the jetty and back. The Midsummer Festival, which takes place on the beach all day long, features games, beverages and food.
