The Region : LaRouche Voter Fraud Charge Rejected

Share

Six weeks after the primary election, Bruce Sumner became the official Democratic nominee in Orange County’s 40th congressional race, after a court commissioner rejected a Lyndon H. LaRouche candidate’s claim of voter fraud. Commissioner Ronald Bauer said he was not convinced by Art Hoffman, Democrat and LaRouche follower, that “ballot stuffing” had occurred after the June 3 election. Bauer also said he had “no evidence that the process”--the just-concluded recount of ballots--had not been done properly. Bauer then refused to issue a temporary restraining order preventing Sumner from becoming the official Democratic nominee to run against five-term Rep. Robert E. Badham (R-Newport Beach) in November.
